Soliloquy-a long speech delivered by a character in a play who is alone on stage
Monologue-a long speech by a character in a play with others on stage listening
Foil-a character who provides a strong contrast to another character. Benvolio/Tybalt
Pun-a humorous play on two or more meanings of the same word or two different words with the same sound
Aside-in a play, a comment made by a character that is heard by the audience or another character but is not heard by the other characters on stage
Imagery-"the word pictures" that writers use to help evoke as emotional response in readers
Dramatic irony-exist when the reader knows something that a character does not know
Theatrical convention-a device that a playwright uses to present a story on stage that the audience accepts as realistic
